It was firmed an important partnership between Pastoral
da Criança of Sector/Diocese Uberlândia
and Uberlândia Catholic College at the sense of
create community courses assisting the needed families
of Uberlândia. The first course was of capacitation
to form Babysitters. The course goal is to qualify community
leaders and mothers, assisted by Pastoral da Criança,
to the job market contributing to a better life quality
and citizenship rescue, thus it was constated a big
number of community leaders and mothers followed up
by Pastoral da Criança that were passing by great
financial difficulties, unemployed and without conditions
or references to get a job. Pastoral da Criança
made the selection of candidates, taking in account
those more needed and preoccupied in assist all areas
of Uberlândia municipality.
The course was done at the dependencies of Catholic
College with involvement of principals, teachers, students
and staff and volunteers of Pastoral da Criança.
It was 27 (twenty-seven) the graduates from the first
class, ended on December 2003, that received certificate
from the Catholic College from the hands of Your Excellency
Bispo Dom José Alberto Moura and from the hands
of Pastoral da Criança coordinator, Odete Dan
Ribeiro Roldão. The students of the Catholic
College made a food campaign and distributed basic baskets
for the Course participants. For the first semester
2004 are previewed, besides the Babysitter Course, Capacitation
Course for Homemaids and Elder's Nurse.
