José Francisco dos Santos was founded through a home visit to the community of Barrado Tarrachil, municipality of Chorrocho, neighbor of Macureré. The area coordinator found this family when the boy was 5 months old, with severe malnutrition and dehydration. With the story of disillusion by the doctor, so said his mother, the mother was not giving the right care, because she had no financial conditions to acquire the necessary food and by not knowing how to take care of a sick child. And said: "I am just waiting God to take him."

The community leaders Jessonita and Katiana, from Macureré parish, decided to take interest in trying to save the boy's life. José Francisco weighted 1 kilogram and 900 grams. And they went on giving a lot of love and affection, thus the child was needing this also, but with enriched food and medicines, thus he was showing hard breathing and constant fever. A month later, he had already gained 160 grams and the symptoms were above were eased. The care dedicated and full of love of community leader Jessonita that assumed him continued. When he was 6 months old, José Francisco had increased 550 grams; 9 months weighted 3.9 kilos; and 14 months, 5 kilos.

Today, José Francisco is growing, developing, smart, he already says little words like: "daddy, mommy", throws kisses and says "tchau!".

When the community leader found him he had not even courage to cry. He stayed still. He looked with the look as if he was saying: "Help!".

The community leader that follows up José Francisco is married, mother of 2 children. The husband is ill, for this motive is retired from INSS (Social Security National Institute). She is unemployed, lives in a very poor neighborhood of a small city, but without measuring efforts to Pastoral da Criança is a strong arm for the Parish Coordinator. It can be said that she is a community leader reach in love, dedication, good will and donation. This is already the second child that she, with the God's strength, helps to save. For the salvation of José Francisco, he was presented to the parish community, where some people got mobilized donating what was needed and keep helping even today. Three families of the community continue with the donation for that the little one have life and have it in abundance.
