If it exist a suspect of pregnancy must seek for a health unity nearest to confirm the hypothesis and begin to follow up the health. The prenatal can assure a healthy pregnancy and a secure birth. The pregnant have the right to do six prenatal appointments during all the pregnancy.

The Pregnant women Card

Every pregnant women must receive the "Pregnant women Card". At it must constated all the notes on the health state, on the pregnancy development and results of the exams done. There must be taken the Card to all appointments that must be filled out, as well as present it to the health service, at the birth time.

At all prenatal appointment, the health team must measure the blood pressure, verify the weight, measure the belly and hear the baby's heart.

The exams at prenatal

  1. Blood exams: to discover diabetes, syphilis and anemia and classify the blood type;
  2. Urine exams: it can discover infections and presence of proteins at the urine;
  3. Uterine collar cancer preventive: this exam informs on the presence of problems that can take to uterine collar cancer, permitting immediate treatment. This exam must be done every three years. In the case that this wasn't done at this period, must be done at prenatal.
  4. HIV test: in the case that the pregnant woman wants, can be done during the prenatal. It is a protection for the mother and the child. A HIV mother can begin the treatment during the pregnancy, evicting that the virus pass to the baby during the pregnancy and birth
