Last December 14th, almost 12 thousand volunteers participated at the Thanksgiving Celebration for Pastoral da Criança 20th birthday, at Clube Atlético Paranaense Stadium, at Curitiba, Paraná. It was a moment of great happiness for community leaders, coordinators, support and capacitation teams, religious and all the partners and friends of Pastoral da Criança that, at this two decades, summed efforts to reduce the infant mortality, malnutrition and construct a peace culture.

The party began with a mass in the open field, celebrate by Dom Geraldo Majella Agnelo, CNBB president and co- founder of Pastoral da Criança, and co- celebrated by dozens of bishops. Just after the Celebration, it entered the scene dance and singing groups like Coral dos Canarinhos de Petrópolis, from Rio de Janeiro; the group Nhe-Eporã, from the tribe M'Byá Guarani, from the village Palmeirinha do Iguaçu, from Chopinzinho, Paraná; the Portuguese folk group Alma Lusa; the fandango group Meu Paraná; and the singing children from Angola. As a representative from other countries with Pastoral da Criança, participated at the celebration Priest João Dele, entity's coordinator at Angola.

Pastoral da Criança National Coordinator, Dr. Zilda Arns Neumann, entered the field accompanied by 15 of the 20 first community leaders of Pastoral da Criança from Florestópolis, municipality where was developed the entity.
