The document "Convocation to 2002 Election Candidates
for the construction of a peace culture and a society
with more social justice and fraternity", elaborated
by Pastoral da Criança, will be sign by the candidate
to the Republic Presidency, Anthony Garotinho, on September
19th, at 8:30 a.m., at Pastoral da Criança Headquarters,
at Curitiba.
The material brings 25 proposals at health, education,
environment, food security, social assistance and other
areas. It will be present to the candidate by the national
coordinator of Pastoral da Criança, Dr. Zilda
Arns Neumann.
The presidential candidates José Serra and Luiz
Inácio Lula da Silva have already signed the
proposals. The receiving order is being established
accordingly with the disposition of the candidates.
Pastoral da Criança continues keeping contact
with the other campaign candidates to schedule the material's
signature.
At its experience of 19 years, accompanying more than
1.6 million pregnant women and needed children below
six years old, Pastoral da Criança understands
that the sum of efforts is the main path to obtain positive
results. The child mortality reduction of more than
a half of the national average, at the communities where
Pastoral is organized, it is the fruit of work done
by more than 155 thousand volunteers, belonging to different
religious beliefs and political options.
The document goal is to convoke the candidates to assume,
with Pastoral da Criança and other entities,
the compromise with proposals that can be accompanied
by the communities. The same document was sending to
all 6,648 Pastoral da Criança coordination teams,
present at 3,555 Brazilian counties. Each one of these
teams must articulate the discussion of Pastoral da
Criança proposals with the candidates of the
State Government, Senate and Federal Representative
House.
The effort of entity's coordinations, at the sense
to promote the meetings with the candidates of various
political parties, it is a contribution for that the
Brazilian children and life quality be a prior goal
at all government programs.
