The Program Criança Esperança – Rede Globo/UNICEF – is the main supporter non-governmental of Pastoral da Criança. Since 1995, part of the savings during the program is destined to the Project CRIANÇA VIVA (Live Child).

          The CRIANÇA VIVA is a specific project of Pastoral da Criança, destined to develop even more the action of the institution all over Brazil, specially at counties of high risk for the childhood. Its main goal is to reinforce the essential and complementary actions of Pastoral da Criança, to bennefy of the children and families followed.

          At the six first years of age of functioning, the CRIANÇA VIVA supported and developed the job of Pastoral da Criança at 589 counties of high risk for the childhood. Beyond this, it made possible the permanence and expansion of hundreds of complementary projects similar as those of Income Generation and Mutual Help, of Literacy of Adults and Youths and the Brinquedotecas (toy libraries). The CRIANÇA VIVA also promoted the arousement of many other special projects, like Cisternas (water-tanks), Tratamento de Água (water treatment), Energia Solar (solar energy), between others, also it makes possible of punctual actions of Pastoral da Criança for whose didn’t have support at the moment.

          During 2002/2003, this partnership will be supporting risk areas of all Brazilian states, with activities at the areas of basic actions of health, social control, nutrition and communication. Beyond this, with the support of Criança Esperança, the Pastoral da Criança will be developing a research to evaluate the impacts of its actions at the communities where the entity acts.
